Many ninja suits are made by international costume makers that label sizes in centimeters, so a "Medium" in one style can fit very differently from a "Medium" in another. This guide gives you the real height ranges for every kids ninja costume we carry, in both inches and centimeters, so you can pick the right size the first time.
How to measure your child's height
- Shoes off, back to the wall. Have your child stand straight with heels, back and head against a wall, looking straight ahead.
- Mark the top of the head. Lay a flat book or ruler on top of their head so it touches the wall, and make a small pencil mark.
- Measure from the floor to the mark. Write the number down in inches or centimeters. Either works, because every chart below shows both.
Measure on the day you order. Kids grow fast, and a height from last spring can easily be off by a full size.

Watch the gaps. A few styles skip a height range. The Kids Ninja Samurai Costume with Toy Sword jumps from 100 cm to 110 cm between S and M, and the Kids Deluxe Ninja Costume jumps from 120 cm to 130 cm between M and L. If your child falls in a gap, choose the larger size.
Costumes sized by age or US kids sizes
A few styles use age or standard kids clothing sizes instead of height:
- Kids Samurai Ninja Costume (Ages 3 to 12) and Kids Red Ninja Jumpsuit with Foam Accessories: S (ages 4 to 5), M (ages 5 to 7), L (ages 9 to 10) and XL (ages 11 to 12).
- Kids Cap Sleeve Hooded Ninja Costume: US kids sizes 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. Pick the size your child wears in everyday clothes.
- Kids Ninja Party Costume (S and M) and Girls Pink and Black Ninja Samurai Costume (M, L and XL): check the size chart in the product photos. The Girls Pink and Black style runs small, so size up.
Age labels are a starting point only. Children of the same age can be very different heights, so if you have a measuring tape handy, height is the better guide.
Between sizes? Size up
When your child is right on the line between two sizes, go with the larger one. A ninja suit with a little room is easier to move in, fits over a long sleeve shirt or leggings on a cold night, and is more likely to still fit at the next birthday party or dress-up day. A costume that is too tight is harder to put on, and hoods and masks can pull.
